Mac Cluster Hosting

Mac cluster hosting means we host the hardware and you run the work. You get a fleet of dedicated Mac mini and Mac Studio machines under one account, without buying, racking or replacing any of them yourself.

What we handle, what you handle

We handleYou handle
The physical Macs and their hostingmacOS users, apps and updates

Every machine is a dedicated physical Mac assigned only to you. You have a full macOS desktop and terminal on each one.

Mixing Mac mini and Mac Studio nodes

A hosted cluster does not have to be uniform. Most fleets end up with a few roles:

  • Mac mini M6 or M4 for CI runners, test shards and remote desktops. Cheap to add, easy to replace.
  • Mac mini M5 Pro for the heaviest compile jobs, where a Pro-class chip shortens builds.
  • Mac Studio M5 Max for GPU work: rendering, ML experiments, small model serving.
  • Mac Studio M5 Ultra for 70B-class language models and the largest jobs.

Use runner labels or a simple inventory file to route each kind of job to the right node. See Mac mini cluster and Mac Studio cluster for each side in more depth.

Capacity planning

A simple process works for most teams:

  1. Measure the queue. Note how long jobs wait at peak times and how long each job takes.
  2. Find the bottleneck. Long waits mean too few nodes. Slow jobs with high memory pressure mean nodes that are too small.
  3. Size by role. Add Mac minis for more parallel jobs. Move to a Mac Studio when memory, not job count, is the limit.
  4. Review each term. Before renewal, check usage and adjust the fleet.

Keep a little headroom. A cluster running at full load all day has no room for a release week.

Procurement made simple

  • One account for the whole fleet. All machines appear under "My Macs" with their access details.
  • Invoices per machine and term. Renewal invoices arrive before the renewal date, with reminders.
  • Account credit. Top up credit once and use it to pay invoices as they come in.
  • Payment options. Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) through Stripe, PayPal, Bitcoin and USDT. Every checkout is in USD.
  • Support tickets from the same account, in English or Simplified Chinese.

For a larger fleet, custom configurations or specific networking between machines, tell us what you need and we will prepare a quote.

Scaling at term end

Each machine has its own term: monthly, 6 or 12 months, with longer terms costing less per month. Mac Studio and M5 Pro machines are on 6 and 12 months. This gives you a natural rhythm for scaling:

  • Scale up any time by ordering more machines.
  • Scale down at term end by cancelling the machines you no longer need in your account.
  • Change terms at the end of a term, for example moving a proven node from monthly to 12 months.
  • Stagger terms so not every machine renews in the same month. Keep a few monthly Mac minis for seasonal peaks.

FAQ

What does Mac cluster hosting include?

We host the physical Macs, set up each machine and its remote access, and handle invoices and renewals. You manage the software and workloads on each machine.

Can I have Mac mini and Mac Studio machines in one account?

Yes. All machines appear in one account under "My Macs", whatever the model or term.

How do I reduce the size of my cluster?

Cancel the machines you no longer need at the end of their term in your account.

Do you offer quotes for large fleets?

Yes. Use the contact page to tell us how many machines you need and any custom requirements.
